  • Red Light Holland’s psilocybe truffles are being evaluated and tested by CCrest Laboratories for:
    • The suitability of Red Light Holland’s naturally occuring psilocybin as a source of active pharmaceutical ingredients (“API”) for scientific and potentially medical and therapeutic purposes
    • Providing Red Light Holland customers with scientific information regarding relative strength of different truffles strain sold
    • Moving towards dose standardization in anticipation of Oregon measure 109 and potentially other world wide locations.

  • Red Light Holland and CCrest Laboratories continue to demonstrate their strong commitment to the highest regulatory compliance standards

Toronto, Ontario–(Newsfile Corp. – November 15, 2021) – Red Light Holland Corp. (CSE: TRIP) (FSE: 4YX) (OTC Pink: TRUFF) (“Red Light Holland” or the “Company“), an Ontario-based corporation engaged in the production, growth and sale of a premium brand of magic truffles, is pleased to announce that it has received the first reports, produced by Shaman Pharma Corp. and CCrest Laboratories Inc. under Health Canada approval, evaluating the suitability of Red Light Holland’s natural psilocybin as a source of active pharmaceutical ingredients (“API”) for scientific and potentially medical and therapeutic purposes.

“This report is a step forward both for the recreational market, as well as the pharmaceutical market interested in naturally occurring psilocybin. We’re excited to share some of the scientific findings from the report on the three different truffles strains that we grow in The Netherlands, for our newly launched variety of products such as the iMicrodose Triniti pack, featuring all three strains that were tested,” said Todd Shapiro, CEO and Director of Red Light Holland. “Red Light Holland and Shaman Pharma are once again pushing the limits, having a true ally and partner with cutting-edge scientific expertise to evaluate our truffles. This is certainly a major milestone in Red Light Holland’s mandate of pursuing research and development, product advancements, technology and applied science which bolsters our Scarlette Lillie Science and Innovation division.”

Red Light Holland initially supplied its truffles in March 2021, with a second shipment in August 2021, to CCrest Laboratories, a cGMP pharmaceutical laboratory in Montreal enabled with a Health Canada Controlled Drugs and Substances license, specializing in highly regulated narcotics, including psychedelics. The raw materials proved to be suitable to complete the first phase of the scientific research, which included the development of proprietary analytical methods and protocols, such as assays to determine the presence and concentration of psilocybin and performing extraction to isolate psilocybin, from both fresh and dried sclerotia.

These cGMP compliant scientific methods and protocols of Quality Control, Analysis and Extraction are aimed at developing intellectual property for achieving the industrial-scale commercialization of medical purpose psychedelic substances in this emerging pharmaceutical sector. Exceeding the exacting regulatory requirements opens a new realm of possibilities for disruptive healthcare innovation using natural psychedelic mushroom derivatives.

Given the prohibited status of psilocybin, listed along Schedule I drugs under the United Nations 1971 Convention on Psychotropic Substances, science on the subject has remained limited, mostly manifested in the literature and methods produced in academic settings. Some of the known compounds in magic mushrooms – psilocybin, psilocin, norpsilocin, baeocystin, norbaeocystin, and aeruginascin – present similarities in their molecular structure, yet these chemicals can react with significant variation in the laboratory, and their little-known differences in behavior once inside the body could prove complimentary or synergistic, possibly creating a so-called entourage effect.

The report demonstrates that different solvents, such as water and methanol in various ratios, render extraction at different speed and quantity and can transform the compounds in the process. Using the same materials with various process modifications, the individual effect on an organism (e.g., human) could yield a significant difference in cognitive experience. In human metabolism, psilocybin is primarily a pro-drug that is dephosphorylated to active metabolite psilocin. One variation in the extraction method has yielded exclusively psilocin, indicating it could bypass dephosphorylation in the metabolism. These variations can lead to discovering innovative delivery mechanisms, which could provide better control between the onset speed and effective duration.

As one of the involved scientists explains, they have positively answered the hypothesis “what if?…” Red Light’s truffles are a viable source of active compounds, the next objective is using the compounds in the development process of pharma-grade ingredients or creating standardised doses for legal markets. With the first phase considered a success, the companies are wrapping up this work and moving to the next phases.

The scientists are now focusing on optimizing the extraction yield, as well as generating comparative data between the raw material attributes: genetic, size and weight, water content, and so on, as factors that can establish the proportions and total content of the various compounds, in a newly developed proprietary protocol identified as SP1-173-L – Qualitative and Quantitative Determination of Psilocybin & Psilocin truffles and mushrooms by Liquid Chromatography.

The objective of the SP1-173-L protocol is to assess the content of compounds in three species of truffles: Galindoi, Mexicana & Tampanensis, using the Liquid Chromatography method developed at CCrest Laboratories. The study will address the suitability of the analytical procedure, the assay of compounds in the three varieties of truffles and the variability of contents within the species and truffles size. Water content will be determined for all specified and sized samples. The tests will be performed by trained analysts at CCrest Laboratories, ensuring that the facilities and instrumentation are properly calibrated and qualified as needed. The laboratory systems will be in compliance with applicable regulations and in-house general laboratory procedures.

This protocol defines the experimental design and the data to be collected for the comparison of compounds contained in truffles of different size and species. The assay is conducted on three species of truffles, supplied by Red Light Farm. The data evaluation consists of:

  • Evaluation of the suitability of the analytical procedure SP1-173-L (precision and repeatability of injection).
  • The comparison of content of compounds will be obtained from three different samples from each species: small truffles, big truffles and a mix of small and big truffles, for a total of nine samples.
  • Determination of water content in the three different species of fresh truffles: Galindoi, Mexicana and Tampanensis.

In previous assays detailed in the reports, the Mexicana species appeared to be the most potent by a few percentage points, measuring at just under 1mg/gram of combined psilocybin and psilocin. The Tampanensis showed the highest proportion of psilocybin, the psilocin composing less than 10% of the total. The Galindoi, while the least potent overall, demonstrated the most balanced mix, with the psilocin equal to slightly more than 50% of the psilocybin content. While these three species are currently sold legally in the Netherlands, due to regulatory restrictions it has not been possible before now to achieve this level of comparison in a formal cGMP setting.

“We are advancing in uncharted territory where we are discovering a promising horizon, so we are definitely motivated to keep moving forward. This scientific work barely scratches the surface of possibilities, we are excited to increasingly deploy our proven pharma abilities in deepening the qualification of Red Light Holland`s truffles as a source of novel therapeutic ingredients,” commented Alex Grenier, CEO of Shaman Pharma and President of CCrest Laboratories. “While synthetic psychedelics are dominating the field, it makes sense to look at the original natural source, because something like an entourage effect would not be reproduced by synthesis. Just as much-hyped artificial cannabinoid analogues were not successful in displacing phytocannabinoids (marijuana), we anticipate the development of a tremendous share of demand for natural psychedelic mushroom derivatives, initially to supply research before cascading downstream to larger markets. Our approach, which is scientific, rigorous, and calculated, is also tailored to the real-world movement out there, the active audience for psychedelics, including many scientists, who are demanding natural origins.”

Red Light Holland continues to establish itself as a leader in the recreational sector and push for legal, responsible and safe access to natural psychedelic truffles/mushrooms while Scarlette Lillie Science and Innovation pursues research and development, technology, and applied science.

Complete Results from Red Light Oregon Market Research in Oregon Show Microdosing Services Market Size per Annum Estimated at a Billion USD

Complete Results from Red Light Oregon Market Research in Oregon Show Microdosing Services Market Size per Annum Estimated at a Billion USD

Toronto, Ontario–(Newsfile Corp. – November 2, 2021) – Red Light Oregon, Inc. (“Red Light Oregon“) a 50/50 joint venture of Halo Collective Inc. (NEO: HALO) (OTCQB: HCANF) (FSE: A9KN) (“Halo Collective“) and Red Light Holland Corp. (CSE: TRIP) (FSE: 4YX) (OTC Pink: TRUFF) (“Red Light Holland“), is pleased to announce the release of its findings from a statistically significant and representative market study of Oregon adults. The market research study (the “Market Research Study“), aimed to gather insights on the likely beneficiaries of Measure 109 and the legalization of psilocybin services by the Oregon Health Authority (“Psilocybin Services“) for adults in Oregon and help support the Oregon Psilocybin Advisory Board (OPAB) and health officials in making data-informed regulations.

The market research utilized an online survey with 13 questions answered by 473 Oregonians. The survey was powered by Dynata Insights Platform to ensure accurate quota sampling. The data was analyzed by data scientist Alicia Chen.
In addition, to the market research, a literature review was conducted by Dr. Rohit Singh, A Ph.D. Organic Chemist and a Research Assistant Professor in the Center for Drug Design – the University of Minnesota, to assess the safety of long term activation of 5ht2b receptors by microdosing of psilocybin.

The Market Research Study has uncovered:

  • At least 16% of adults in Oregon are interested in Microdosing services on a weekly basis or more.
  • 47% of those interested in Microdosing were interested in “Microdosing in a Mindfulness workshop”.
  • The preferred price for Microdosing services such as microdosing and mindfulness workshops, microdosing and creativity workshops, or dedicated microdosing co-working spaces is on average above $50 USD.
  • When combining this information with the adult (21+) population size of Oregon being 2,429,348 we get a calculation of 2,429,348 X 16%(adults interested in microdosing weekly) X 50 USD (preferred price) X 52 (weeks a year) equal to 1,010,608,768 per annum estimated market size.

Based on this data, Red Light Oregon will be reaching out to OPAB members to offer recommendations found in the report, available at www.RedLightOregon.com, including:

  • Allowing more clients per facilitator in a group session when using low doses of psilocybin as a safe way to lower the price of psilocybin services.
  • Lower doses should be clarified in regulations to be no more than 3 mg of psilocybin.
  • Lower dose session time should be clarified to be shorter than a full dose session.
  • One intake session should be clarified to be enough for 6 months of lower dose service received up to 5 times a week.
  • Tiered prices for lower-income clients should be encouraged.
  • Including an internship component in facilitator training may decrease the prices of group sessions also for high dose services.

Red Light Holland plans to conduct research in the Netherlands, where psilocybin is legal, to understand the optimal ratio for facilitators in a group setting with a dose of up to 3 mg of psilocybin per person as well as the optimal time for these low dose sessions.

“The data shows a very big interest in Microdosing services on a regular basis,” said Todd Shapiro, CEO, and Director of Red Light Holland. “Measure 109 is focused on equity, and microdosing is a great way to bring psilocybin services to lower-income clients. The Microdosing and Mindfulness and Microdosing and creativity workshops we have been running in the Netherlands seem to have a great interest for the people of Oregon.”

“We are seeing that Microdosing services have the potential of being as large of a market as cannabis. We believe there is a huge opportunity for a company with our shared expertise to provide the people of Oregon with the best services,” added Katie Field, Co-President of Red Light Oregon and President and Executive Director at Halo Collective.

“With so many people interested in microdosing on a regular basis, it was imperative for us to conduct a literature review regarding the long-term safety of microdosing activation of the 5ht2b receptor that has been implicated in health issues. While we can not give medical advice, we are very happy to provide the information we collected from existing literature on what is considered a safe recurring microdosing dose to OPAB. Katie Fields and I plan on using our collective networks to reach out to members of OPAB, in hopes of discussing these very thorough findings to increase equity and accessibility,” said Sarah Hashkes, Co-president of Red Light Oregon and Chief Technology and Innovation Officer of Red Light Holland.

The full report can be found on Red Light Oregon Website www.RedLightOregon.com

Measure 109 will make Psilocybin Services available to 21 years and older in Oregon who think they can benefit from them without a need for medical diagnosis. The service must include a prep-session, psilocybin session in a licensed facility supervised by a licensed facilitator and a possibility of an integration session. On December 31, 2022, the Oregon Health Authority will prescribe forms and regulations necessary for the exact implementation.

Below are some of the answers from the 42% of adults in the sample from Oregon interested in paying for Microdosing Psilocybin Services.

On Behalf of the Board of Directors we wish our fearless leader and his wife, 6 year old son and 2 year old daughter a speedy recovery. Unfortunately, the diagnoses of COVID-19 limited Todd’s travel to The Netherlands where he was to meet up with Russell Peters, the company’s Chief Creative Officer and document Russell’s first psychedelic experience with Red Light Holland’s therapist and expert psychedelic guide Jeff Hamburg. As a result, both Russell Peters and Todd Shapiro have postponed traveling to The Netherlands for the documentation and live-stream event which was announced on October 15th, 2021, which will be rescheduled as soon as possible.

“I’m just glad my man Todd Shapiro and his family are recovering from COVID-19,” said Russell Peters, Chief Creative Officer. “It’s no joke. Neither is opening up about mental health and I assure everybody when the time is right, Todd and I expect to get to The Netherlands, where my plan is to have a guided truffle therapy experience and open up about my journey for the world to see. I truly believe that the more of us who tackle our demons and then share those outcomes will be beneficial for people everywhere and I feel blessed to be in a position to potentially help those struggling.”

Triniti, Uniti and Mindfuli Magic Truffles join the original iMicrodose packs powered by Red Light Holland, which are currently in 25 smart shops plus available online in 3 other e-commerce sites, including www.iMicrodose.nl. Triniti, Uniti and Mindfuli will be produced and packaged in the Red Light Holland Truffle farm, in Horst, The Netherlands. The company is continuously growing three Truffle strains, Mexicana, Galindoi and Tampanensis which will be used for the new iMicrodose Product offerings.

“What’s really exciting is we believe we are the first company in the Netherlands to offer microdosing with 3 different varieties of Magic Truffles in one package, as Triniti powered by Red Light Holland will contain all three strains of Truffles – Galindoi, Mexicana and Tampanensis – grown in our farm. This gives the opportunity for consumers to try all three strains and to figure out which one may be best suited for them,” said Hans Derix, Red Light Holland’s President. “Living here in the Netherlands, and watching life open up has inspired us to not just grow Magic Truffles but as well to grow the iMicrodose brand. We are proud of the packaging and design of the new iMicrodose packs and we are elated to be able to have such a large distribution wholesale network – SR Wholesale – to really push this brand and expanded product line to our retail partners.”

“Our research shows there is increased interest in microdosing with natural Psilocybin world wide. The Netherlands is our first legal market and by increasing our product offerings and testing them with our consensual data gathering app www.iMicroapp.com and our telecounseling platform we can believe we can help regulatory bodies around the world realize the potential,” said Sarah Hashkes, Red Light Holland Chief Technology and Innovation Officer. “Each iMicrodose pack comes with a QR code making it easier for customers to sign up to the iMicro App and join our community. We aim to share this unique data in Q4 of 2021.”

“We continue to grow as a company and offering new products, which we produce, to the market is part of our strategy to increase profit margins. SR Wholesale will have a clear focus on selling the new iMicrodose packs which come directly from our farm in the Netherlands showing true vertical integration,” said Todd Shapiro, Chief Executive Officer and Director of the Company. “We have a clear plan to get Red Light Holland products into many more retail stores and we will continue to push for sales on our e-commerce online platform at www.iMicrodose.nl. We’re very proud to be providing responsible access now and we love that the iMicrodose line-up continues to expand giving end consumers the ability to try more products.”

iMicrodose packs Triniti, Uniti and Mindfuli powered by Red Light Holland will be made available at www.iMicrodose.nl and via SR Wholesale to retail shops in the Netherlands to adults 18+ by early November 2021.

Patients in palliative care have higher rates of depression – could a psychedelic retreat change this?

Launched yesterday in Utah, “Psychedelic Palliative Care by Novamind” combines psychedelic-assisted therapy with workshops, multi-day immersive retreats, and group support at its recently-opened clinic.

“Due to psychedelic medicine’s generally low side effect burden and fast-acting nature, it shows promise for patients who are physically ill and might have limited life expectancies,” said Novamind’s Chief Scientific Officer.

Lobe Sciences (LOBE) is partnering with the the World Boxing Association (“WBA”) to help boxers manage brain injuries!

The organizations plan to launch a global registry to identify former and current boxers with mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI) and help them manage the side effects, which can often include PTSD. The WBA will also develop best practices for early diagnosis of mTBI that can be used immediately after fights for current boxers.

Injured boxers could potentially be treated with Lobe’s therapeutic regimen, which utilizes the combination of psilocybin and NAC (the pneumonia drug) mentioned in last week’s issue.

E. coli + shroom moonshine anyone?

A recent study suggests that it’s possible to produce a potent “psilocybin moonshine” using a fast and simple homebrew method that doesn’t involve growing mushrooms or sterilization.

Researchers inserted magic mushroom genes into E. coli bacteria, which was then added to bottles, submerged in a water tank that was aerated with an aquarium pump, and covered with aluminum foil to maintain a temperature of 37 °C.

In less than two days, 300 mg of psilocybin was produced per liter of water. The method even worked without sterilization, but produced only 100 mg/L, yet this deficit was counteracted by adding a form of penicillin.

Even boomers want to microdose

New market research shows a growing interest in psilocybin services!

Red Light Oregon, a 50/50 joint venture between Red Light Holland (TRUFF) and Halo Collective (HALO), conducted market research to help the Oregon Psilocybin Advisory Board (OPAB) and health officials make informed regulations.

Of 473 Oregonian adults surveyed, 86% showed in interest in microdosing, including 94% of Gen Z and 74% of Boomers. As a result, Red Light Oregon launched an advocacy program to educate the OPAB and health officials on the benefits of microdosing.

The survey also found that 37% of adults, mainly minorities, did not know what psilocybin is, so the company is launching a community outreach program to educate underserved populations on psilocybin’s therapeutic effects.

Turn the music up, it’s sad boi hour

Scientists confirmed what mushroom users have long known…

In a study conducted by a Copenhagen University researcher, psilocybin was found to increase the emotional response to music, whereas the control drug, ketanserin (a blood pressure medication), lessened the emotional response.

Participants listened to 10 minutes of classical music and were assessed on the Geneva Emotional Music Scale, which measures nine mental states: wonder, transcendence, tenderness, nostalgia, peacefulness, power, joyful activation, tension, and sadness. Those on psilocybin showed a 60% increase in emotions.

“What we need to do now is optimize this approach probably through individualizing and personalizing music tracks in therapy,” says Professor David Nutt of Imperial College London.

New ways to consume drugs 🎉

Will shroom edibles and drinks be the next big thing in Cali?

Cannabis Global Inc. (CBGL) is developing methods to infuse psilocybin and psilocin, as well as other compounds found in psychedelic mushrooms, into foods and beverages.

The LA-based company has initiated research into infusion methods to improve bioavailability of the compounds and to mask the bitter flavour of the mushrooms. It has already filed 9 patent applications for its cannabinoid infusion technologies, which it hopes to leverage for this new research program.

With the state of California on track to have a psilocybin legalization measure on the 2022 ballot, the program could potentially serve a large marketplace in the near future.

Managing pain across the globe

Could microdosing + this new technology reduce pain in cancer patients?

MindBio Therapeutics is developing a technology platform to integrate with psychedelic therapy to prevent the mental health of cancer patients from deteriorating. By utilizing wearable devices, the platform is designed to help with pain management to prevent depression, existential distress, and anxiety.

MindBio Therapeutics will use the mindfulness app in an upcoming  Phase 2 microdosing trial, which is funded by the New Zealand government, to see if it provides additional benefits to late-stage cancer patients compared to microdosing alone.

The company aims to commercialize the application globally and believes the tech has potential to receive government funding in Europe.

More psilocybin please!

This new extraction method could yield more psilocybin from a single mushroom than previously possible.

Natural psilocybin extraction can have low and unstable yields, which is why many companies opt for synthetic versions. When mushrooms are dehydrated, the total psilocybin/psilocin content extracted is three times lower than the total amount believed to be in the mushroom.

Optimi Health (OPTI) developed an extraction technique that not only increases the yield of natural psilocybin, but also protects the compounds from degeneration while reducing the cost of the final drug. On Tuesday, the company announced that it filed a provisional patent application to protect the process.

Seattle becomes the largest US city to decriminalize psychedelics

With a unanimous vote, a new legislation was passed to decriminalize the possession, cultivation, and sharing of psychedelic mushrooms, ayahuasca, ibogaine and non-peyote-derived mescaline.

Peyote was intentionally excluded from the measure, as it’s in danger of extinction due to the increase in illegal harvesting. In fact, Santa Cruz recently removed peyote and other mescaline-containing cacti from the city’s decriminalization policy after pushback from Indigenous groups that consider the entheogens to be sacred.

Psychedelic reform coming this year!

It’s time for the federal government to catch up with the rest of America.

At a psychedelics policy symposium organized by Harvard’s Project on Psychedelics Law and Regulation (POPLAR), Rep. Earl Blumenauer (D-OR) said he plans to bring drug reform to the Capitol this year!

“I promise you I will do my part—not only assisting in the evolution of the Oregon [psilocybin] program, but I plan on bringing this movement to Capitol Hill this year in the same way we developed the foundation for the support of our cannabis work,” he vowed.

This is why Gen Z should be in charge…

Some of the youngest state legislators in the US want to decriminalize all drugs.

Tony Labranche, a 19-year-old Rep. of New Hampshire, is pushing to establish a regulated cannabis sales system and decriminalize the possession of magic mushrooms, as well as all other controlled substances. The reform proposals are bold for a GOP-controlled state, but they’re sparking more dialogue about the need to end the war on drugs.

Back in February, a 20-year-old lawmaker filed a bill to broadly decriminalize drug possession in Kansas, noting that drug use should be treated as a mental health problem rather than a criminal one.

Canada is following suit, with the city of Toronto preparing to ask Health Canada to decriminalize all drugs, similar to Vancouver’s request in May.

Progress down under

Australia’s Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) may reschedule psilocybin and MDMA after recognizing their therapeutic potential.

The substances are currently classified as Schedule 9, or “prohibited substances”, creating a barriers for conducting clinical research. The TGA is considering changing the classification to Schedule 8, or “controlled substances” (the same as THC) to allow controlled use in clinical settings.

The verdict will be announced in the first week of December after an advisory committee meeting!

Playing with mischievous spirits

This Reddit user found their inner child with help from some cheeky entities.

“On my first trip, I was taken to my afterlife and was touched by the unconditional universal love. It was so beautiful and I cry everytime I try to tell anyone about it because it felt so powerful. I’m crying now lol. I felt like I was in the presence of God. I was shown my Heaven and was told that there is nothing to fear about dying. I felt so much love from God towards me, it was overwhelming but very healing. It was like the love I feel for my children…. total acceptance, no judgement, unconditional positive regard.

On the next few trips I met a variety of more playful spirits who would ‘play’ with me like children would. Some were quite cheeky and mischievous. I called them my ragtag band of misfits. They really like to portray themselves to me as pirates. They helped to bring out the child in me and my sense of fun which I must admit I had burried deep inside due to life circumstances. My partner, who is my usual trip sitter, always hoped I would meet them because he liked seeing my cheeky side come out. My pirate friends liked him too and often made me say funny things to him, but they were always respectful towards him. Eventually, they stopped coming to me, to make way for higher beings who had other lessons to teach me. I miss those rascals and I hope to see them again some day.”

Toronto, Ontario–(Newsfile Corp. – September 29, 2021) – Red Light Oregon, Inc. (“Red Light Oregon“) a 50/50 joint venture of Halo Collective Inc. (NEO: HALO) (OTCQB: HCANF) (FSE: A9K) (“Halo Collective“) and Red Light Holland Corp. (CSE: TRIP) (FSE: 4YX) (OTC Pink: TRUFF), (“Red Light Holland“), is pleased to announce preliminary findings from a statistically significant and representative market study of Oregon adults.

Some Initial data from the Market Research Study has uncovered:

● 86% of adults interested in Psilocybin Services are interested in microdosing.
● 49% of those interested in Psilocybin Services are interested in services such as increasing creativity (35%), exploring their mind (29%) and exploring spirituality (29%).
● Oregonians who are not interested in Psilocybin Services because they don’t want to pay for them list their largest concern is supporting Big Pharma.
● 84% of those interested in Psilocybin Services are interested in services to help with their mental health.
● While nearly half of all adults (49%) are interested in paying for Psilocybin Services, 37% of Adults in Oregon do not know what psilocybin is. In addition, women, people who have not completed a college degree, and Asian minorities in Oregon are less likely to know what psilocybin is.

● Launched a community outreach program to educate the public and health care providers about the latest scientific research around psilocybin and the opportunities of Measure 109. Red Light Oregon will be focusing on reaching out to underserved populations, as seen in the data, which have not had the privilege to be exposed to the potential benefits of psilocybin. The program will utilize Wisdom, a VR app that explains the effects of psilocybin on the brain. You can register to receive more information on: https://redlightoregon.com/.
● Launched an advocacy program to educate the Oregon Psilocybin Advisory Board and Oregon health officials around the potential benefits of microdosing and the ability to increase the equity of Measure 109 with regulation specifically addressing microdosing, which is a lower-priced service. Red Light Oregon aims to work with Oregon authorities utilizing Red Light Oregon’s legal advisor to assist in bridging the gap between regulations and what the people in Oregon want.

“The data Red Light Oregon has received, so far, from Oregon is showing the immediate need people have for psychedelic services to help with mental health. The data also shows many of them are interested in microdosing,” said Todd Shapiro, CEO, and Director of Red Light Holland. “Measure 109 is focused on equity, and equity starts with education, which is why we have launched our community outreach program. Oregonians have also shown us their genuine concern around supporting Big Pharma and Red Light Oregon is committed to being the people’s company starting by listening to what the people want while advocating for legal access through education, information, and responsible use.”

“With 51% of adults interested in Psilocybin Services and 88% of those respondents being interested in microdosing, we believe there is a huge opportunity for a company with our shared expertise to provide the people of Oregon with the best services,” added Katie Field, Co-President of Red Light Oregon and President and Executive Director at Halo Collective.

“Psilocybin has meaningful potential to help people grow and heal, and it’s everyone’s responsibility to make sure the benefits from this natural substance are available to everyone even if they don’t make six figures. We are impressed with the OPAB’s emphasis on equity and hope this data will help them come up with recommendations that will ensure this goal. For Measure 109 to be equitable, it should also take into account the wants of the younger generation and make sure that group sessions and microdosing are clearly defined in the regulation to increase accessibility to lower-priced Psilocybin Services,” said Sarah Hashkes, Co-president of Red Light Oregon and Chief Technology and Innovation Officer of Red Light Holland.

Further data from the survey continues to be analyzed. An official report is estimated to be released to the public, the OPAB and health officials in mid-October.

Measure 109 will make Psilocybin Services available to 21 years and older in Oregon who think they can benefit from them without a need for medical diagnosis. The service must include a required prep-session, psilocybin session in a licensed facility supervised by a licensed facilitator and a possibility of an integration session. On December 31, 2022, the Oregon Health Authority will prescribe forms and regulations necessary for the exact implementation.

The company continues to expand its business and scale efficiently, partnering with trustworthy leaders in the industry who value Halo Collective’s operational expertise in bringing top-tier products to market.

Halo Collective currently operates in the United States in Oregon and California, Canada, Southern Africa in the Kingdom of Lesotho, and the United Kingdom. The company sells cannabis products principally to dispensaries in the U.S. under its brands Hush, Mojave, and Exhale, and under license agreements with Papa’s Herb®, DNA Genetics, Terphogz, and FlowerShop*, a cannabis lifestyle and conceptual wellness brand that includes G-Eazy as a partner and key member.

As part of continued expansion and vertical integration in the U.S., Halo Collective boasts several grow operations throughout Oregon and two planned in California. In Oregon, the company has a combined 11 acres of owned and contracted outdoor and greenhouse cultivation, including East Evans Creek, a six-acre grow site in Jackson County with four licenses owned and operated by Halo Collective and two third-party licenses under contract to sell all of their product to Halo Collective; Winberry Farms, a one-acre grow site located 30 miles outside of Eugene in Lane County with a license owned and operated by Halo Collective; and William’s Wonder Farms, a three-acre grow site in Applegate Valley, under contract to sell all of its product to Halo Collective pending the closing of Halo Collective’s acquisition of its licenses and business assets. Halo Collective has recently acquired Food Concepts LLC, a master tenant of a 55,000 sq.ft. indoor cannabis cultivation, processing, and wholesaling facility in Portland, Oregon operated by the Pistil Point entities.

In California, the company is building out Ukiah Ventures, a planned 30,000 sq. ft. indoor cannabis grow and processing facility, which will include up to an additional five acres of industrial land to expand the site. Recently, Halo Collective partnered with Green Matter Holding in California to purchase a property in Lake County, developing up to 63 acres of cultivation, comprising one of the largest licensed single site grows in California. In Canada, Halo Collective acquired three KushBar retail cannabis stores located in Alberta as a first in its planned entry into the Canadian market, leveraging its Oregon and California brands. With the KushBar retail stores as a foundation, the company plans to expand its foothold in Canada.

Halo Collective has also acquired a range of software development assets, including CannPOS, Cannalift, and, more recently, CannaFeels. The company intends to spin-off these assets and its intellectual property and patent applications into its subsidiary Halo Tek Inc. and expects to complete a distribution to shareholders on a record date to be determined by Halo Collective.

Halo Collective has recently announced its intention to reorganize its non-U.S. operations into a newly formed entity called Akanda Corp.
