VANCOUVER, BC, Feb. 24, 2022  – HAVN Life Sciences Inc. (CSE: HAVN) (OTC: HAVLF) (FSE: 5NP) (the “Company” or “HAVN Life”) a biotechnology company pursuing standardized extraction of psychedelic compounds for investigational research as potential APIs to support brain health and cognitive function, is pleased to announce it has successfully secured a purchase order for naturally derived psilocybin from their Canadian supply partner, Revive Therapeutics Ltd. (CSE: RVV) (OTC: RVVTF) (FSE: 31R) (“Revive”) for use in clinical research studies. The Company previously signed a supply agreement with Revive in October, 2021.

In fulfilling of the purchase order, HAVN Life will export naturally derived GMP psilocybin extract from its facility in Jamaica into the U.S. through its distribution partner, Mycrodose Therapeutics Inc. (“Mycrodose”) for use by the University of Wisconsin-Madison (“UW-Madison”), a Contract Research Organization (“CRO”) for Revive. This shipment of naturally derived psilocybin will allow UW-Madison to conduct research and formulation work to finalize dosing and delivery mechanisms in support of the various studies to be sponsored by Revive using an oral-thin and Hydra-gel delivery systems of psychedelics to treat mental health disorders.

(“Spore”), as announced on December 20, 2021, has terminated, and the transactions contemplated thereby are not proceeding.

HAVN wishes Spore success in its endeavours, and notes that it continues to maintain an interest in Spore through the $750,000 secured convertible note held by HAVN (see press release dated December 20, 2021).

The Agreement allows HAVN Life to export naturally derived psilocybin from its Jamaica facility and grows roster of supply partners in the U.S. market

Vancouver, BC – HAVN Life Sciences Inc. (CSE: HAVN) (OTC: HAVLF) (FSE: 5NP) (the “Company” or “HAVN Life”) a biotechnology company pursuing standardized extraction of psychedelic compounds for investigational research as potential APIs to support brain health and cognitive function, is thrilled to announce its entry into an exclusive U.S. Distribution Agreement (the “Exclusive Distribution Agreement”) with California-based Mycrodose Therapeutics Inc. (“Mycrodose”), a leading pharmaceutical company in the U.S. specializing in the research and development of advanced drug delivery systems utilizing DEA Schedule I, II and III drugs and other compounds aimed at treating cancer related conditions, mental health, and cognitive degenerative diseases.

HAVN Life and Mycrodose have entered into the Exclusive Distribution Agreement to facilitate the import of HAVN Life’s naturally derived GMP psilocybin into the United States for authorized research purposes. The Exclusive Distribution Agreement allows HAVN Life & Mycrodose to provide naturally derived GMP psilocybin to research institutions/researchers within the U.S. at competitive prices, which should assist with alleviating the supply chain issues currently facing researchers who are unable to find GMP psilocybin at an affordable price.

“HAVN Life is kicking off 2022 with strong partnerships in both our research and retail divisions, and we are very excited to start fulfilling purchase orders for our research customers with our new U.S. distribution partner, Mycrodose Therapeutics,” says HAVN Life CEO, Tim Moore. “We’ve been working closely with Chad and his team, and are excited about the potential of this partnership.”

Mycrodose is one of only a handful of pharmaceutical companies that has been authorized by the United States Drug Enforcement Agency (“DEA”), State of California Attorney General’s Research Advisory Board, and The Food & Drug Administration (“FDA”) to import and research six (6) Schedule I, II and III compounds. In December 2021, Mycrodose added a Schedule I Import license which allows the import of Schedule I psilocybin and psilocin.
DEA import authorization gives Mycrodose the ability to import the controlled substance of psilocybin and psilocin for clinical trials, research and development, analytical purposes, and distribution to its clients for authorized research purposes.

The interest and demand for psilocybin research in the United States has grown significantly in 2021 and continues to outpace supply in 2022. Recently the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) again increased the quota for psilocybin research in the U.S. HAVN and Mycrodose have already successfully completed a first purchase order and delivery of naturally derived GMP raw psilocybin mushrooms from Jamaica into the United States, and Mycrodose is actively handling new enquiries from approved DEA licensed institutions and research organizations.

Concurrently, Mr. Leong has stepped down as HAVN Life’s Chief Science Officer, shifting his focus to an advisory role within the organization.

Mr. Leong has been instrumental in the regulatory development and launch of HAVN Life’s Retail Division, formulating its portfolio of natural health products, launched in June of 2021. Gary Leong has more than thirty years of experience in the pharmaceutical and natural health product industries. Mr. Leong is currently acting as the Director of Quality and Compliance at the privately Licensed Cannabis Processor, Tricanna Industries Inc. He was the Chief Scientific Officer at Aphria Inc. in Leamington, ON from its inception in 2014 to 2019, where he established and oversaw the Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Regulatory Affairs and Research and Development functions. Take this test before your first ayahuasca retreat

HaluGen Life Sciences expanded its psychedelic DNA test – it can now assess how your body metabolizes LSD, MDMA and ayahuasca. 

The kit tests for a CYP2D6 gene mutation, which can cause metabolism of the drugs to take up to twice as long. This could lead to longer, more intense trips and adverse reactions. 

Thankfully, the mutation is only present in 5-10% of people!

The findings from COMPASS’s depression study keep coming!

COMPASS Pathways’ (CMPS) announced that patients taking SSRI antidepressants in conjunction with psilocybin therapy had similar outcomes and fewer side effects compared to those who withdrew from SSRIs before the study.

Five patients who withdrew from SSRIs had serious adverse effects, such as suicidal ideation, when given the largest dose. None of the patients on SSRIs had this experience.

Why psychedelics could be the key to world peace

This scientist claims she helped end the Cold War with MDMA.

Carol Rosin—a space and missile defense consultant for the US—said she gave MDMA to Soviet scientists and military personnel prior to nuclear negotiations in 1985 (before the drug was illegal).

The plan was created with help from Rick Doblin, the founder of MAPS. 

“The thought was that if they can work through their fears and traumas and feel their connection to humanity, then that might be helpful,” Doblin explains.

While some are skeptical if this actually happened, MDMA releases oxytocin (aka the hormone of love and empathy), which could certainly help the opposing sides see eye to eye!  

Most addiction specialists see promise in psychedelic treatments!

A recent survey revealed how psychedelic therapy is viewed by medical professionals in the American Academy of Addiction Psychiatry.

Of the 145 respondents:

  • 64% believe that psychedelics show promise in treating substance use disorders
  • 82% agree that the drugs show promise in treating psychiatric disorders like depression
  • 75% were in favour of legalizing psychedelics for therapeutic uses

Interest is growing among patients too – the vast majority of specialist said they had discussed psychedelic experiences with at least one patient.

The seeds of Morning Glory flowers contain a hallucinogenic compound that’s similar to LSD. It’s said to induce a dreamlike state and was even used in Mayan rituals to communicate with spirits.
