Ketamine One Subsidiary IRP Health Opens Two New Veteran-Focused Clinics

The Previously Announced Open Label Study of Patients with PTSD Who Are Undergoing IRP Health’s Proprietary 12-Week Physical Therapy Program Has Received Ethics Approval

VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Nov. 16, 2021 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — KetamineOne Capital Limited (“Ketamine One” or the “Company”) (NEO: MEDI) (OTC: KONEF) (Frankfurt: 6FC), a company focused on consolidating medical clinics and becoming a North American leader in mental health treatments, is pleased to announce that its wholly owned subsidiary, IRP Health Ltd. (“IRP” or the “Subsidiary”), recently opened its Comox Valley and Ottawa clinics (the “Two Clinics”). As previously announced, the Two Clinics are veteran-focused facilities and multidisciplinary in nature. To date, IRP has successfully performed over 10,000 unique treatments for past or present personnel of the Canadian Armed Forces and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (“RCMP”), as well as first responders including firefighters, law enforcement officers, paramedics and emergency medical technicians.

The Comox Valley location is located at 780 30th Street in Courtenay, British Columbia, as the Comox Valley is one of the top retirement destinations in Canada for military veterans. The clinic is currently past the mid-way point of its inaugural program for RCMP personnel. The Ottawa clinic is located at #305 1385 Bank Street, in an area that has a local population of over 9,000 veterans. The clinic’s practitioners have begun providing veterans with private, mental health-focused Occupational Therapy sessions. IRP continues to work toward establishing clinic locations in Halifax and Surrey, as also previously announced.

Additionally, the previously announced open label study of patients with post-traumatic stress disorder (the “PTSD Study”) who are undergoing IRP’s proprietary, 12-week physical therapy program, in affiliation with Ketamine One’s wholly owned contract research organization KGK Science Inc (“KGK”), has recently received ethics approval. The next stage in preparation for the PTSD Study is to initiate a participant recruitment campaign and KGK expects to begin data collection early in 2022. A secondary benefit of the PTSD Study is that it will provide an opportunity for veterans who do not qualify for funding through Veterans Affairs Canada to participate in IRP’s beneficial program.

Management Commentary

“I would like to commend Steven Inglefield and his team for getting IRP’s Comox Valley and Ottawa clinics to operational status and for beginning to treat veterans and first responders in multidisciplinary ways. Ketamine One continues to be a leader in mental health in Canada, and North America, thanks to the hard work of its employees,” said Adam Deffett, Interim CEO of Ketamine One. “I am also excited about the advancement of the PTSD Study, which is a great example of two of our subsidiaries, IRP and KGK, working together with the goal of advancing the field mental health. As Canada’s only group of physical rehabilitation clinics exclusively treating members of the veteran and first responder population, IRP is filling a critical role in providing customized treatment programs for patients and is seeing strong demand for its services,” added Mr. Deffett.

Healing veterans with DMT

DMT and PTSD

In honour of Veteran’s Day, we’re sharing the story of how a Special Ops veteran changed his life with DMT.

Asher Gibson was diagnosed with PTSD and traumatic brain injury after countless combats across the world. Prescription medications began to dominate his life, so he turned to psychedelic healing.

After smoking DMT, the powerful compound found in ayahuasca, Asher was blasted out of his body and traveled through different dimensions to the beginning of time.

“I remember my whole head being ecstatic and numb, like the most wonderful electrical massage on my brain. The feeling moved down my neck and shoulders and eventually filled my entire body.”

After the trip, Asher’s debilitating neck and shoulder pain was almost non-existent and his mental state subsided to manageable levels. He is no longer dependent on prescription drugs.

“While DMT isn’t the magic button that fixes everything, I believe it’s a powerful guide to help you do the work yourself,” he explains.

To bring this kind of relief to other veterans, consider supporting the Heroic Hearts Project – a non-profit organization that provides ayahuasca retreats for veterans with combat experience or military sexual trauma.

Numinus to Host Extension of MAPS-Sponsored MDMA-Assisted Therapy for PTSD Trials

Numinus to Host Extension of MAPS-Sponsored MDMA-Assisted Therapy for PTSD Trials

Numinus will manage two new clinics in Montreal and Vancouver to host trials.

VANCOUVER, BC, Nov. 10, 2021 /CNW/ – Numinus Wellness Inc. (“Numinus” or the “Company”) (TSXV: NUMI), a leader in psychedelics-focused mental healthcare, is pleased to announce that it has secured two new Canadian psychedelic clinics that will host the Canadian sites of the MAPS Public Benefit Corporation (MAPS PBC) study “A multi-site open-label extension study of MDMA-assisted psychotherapy for PTSD (MAPPUSX).”

In addition to managing the two new clinics, which are fully compliant with Health Canada regulations and ready to provide MDMA-assisted therapy as part of the trial, Numinus will host the Montreal and Vancouver sites in MAPPUSX, which will continue to study the safety and efficacy of MDMA in treating severe PTSD, under the leadership of MAPS PBC as study organizer. Numinus will also financially support costs relating to therapists who deliver the therapeutic intervention in Numinus clinics during the trial.

“We are honored to host the Canadian sites of the MAPPUSX trial as we continue to examine the important findings around MDMA-assisted therapy for PTSD,” said Dr. Joe Flanders, VP, Psychology, Numinus and therapist for the Montreal site of the trial. “Our clinical and research teams are well positioned to implement MAPS’ research and, ultimately, to work with MAPS on the translation of research findings into mainstream clinical practice. We are excited about this study in both BC and Quebec and look forward to how the MAPPUSX study supports expanded collaboration in the future.”

To date, 25 Numinus-affiliated therapists have gone through MAPS’ training program for delivery of MDMA-assisted therapy and a number of these therapists will have roles in the trial. The trial will be open to eligible participants who were previously enrolled in the placebo arm of the parent study (MAPP1) or who were not able to receive treatment due to COVID-19 restrictions.

“We are happy to work with a trusted ally to quickly complete the extension trial at the Canadian sites” said Rick Doblin, Ph.D. the founder and executive director of the Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies (MAPS). “As we get closer to our goal of making MDMA-assisted therapy a reality, it is critical that we work with clinics who will advance making this treatment widely accessible in real-world settings.”

To accomplish this next step in the MAPPUSX study, Numinus has assumed the leases of two new clinics, the Vancouver and Montreal psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy clinics that were previously used to conduct MAPS PBC’s earlier study “A multi-site phase 3 study of MDMA-assisted psychotherapy for PTSD (MAPP1).” In that trial, 88% of participants experienced a clinically meaningful reduction in symptoms and 67% no longer qualified for a PTSD diagnosis. The highly statistically significant results and excellent safety record suggest MDMA-assisted therapy will be an effective treatment for severe, chronic PTSD

Payton Nyquvest, CEO, Numinus, added, “We are thrilled that our two new locations, which are purpose-developed for psychedelic-assisted therapy, regulatorily compliant and leading in industry standards, can be used to help advance this crucial work on psychedelic medicine. We look forward to deepening our collaboration with MAPS while expanding the resources and solutions available to those suffering from PTSD.”

Securing the Canadian sites will further allow Numinus to expand its clinical activities in Quebec and BC, including its ketamine-assisted psychotherapy program, which is available in both provinces.

NOTE
The safety and efficacy of MDMA-assisted therapy is currently under investigation. It has not yet been approved by Health Canada or the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), does not work for everyone, and carries risks even in therapeutic settings. These statements are no guarantee of future Health Canada or FDA approval or availability of MDMA-assisted therapy. These statements necessarily involve known and unknown risks and uncertainties, which may cause actual outcomes to differ materially from projections.

Ending the PTSD crisis

COMPASS Pathways to launch phase II trial of COMP360 psilocybin therapy for post-traumatic stress disorder

The lack of effective PTSD treatments is “a crisis,” according to the PTSD Psychopharmacology Working Group. About one in 20 people in the UK suffer from PTSD, and current treatment options are ineffective for 40% of these patients.

COMPASS Pathways (CMPS) is launching a phase II trial to see if its psilocybin therapy model for treatment-resistant depression, COMP360, can also bring relief to patients with PTSD.

The trial will assess 20 patients who experienced trauma as adults, who will be given a single dose of the psilocybin formulation followed by 12 weeks of therapy protocols.

Researchers will measure the safety of the drug as will as improvements in PTSD symptoms, functionality, and quality of life.

Ketamine Wellness Centers Partners with Veterans Affairs (VA) Community Care Network to Provide Free Ketamine Treatments to Veterans

Ketamine Wellness Centers Partners with Veterans Affairs (VA) Community Care Network to Provide Free Ketamine Treatments to Veterans

Nation’s Largest Clinic Chain’s Partnership with Illinois and Minnesota Chapters to Provide Ketamine Treatments for PTSD, Depression and Pain at No Out-of-Pocket Costs

VANCOUVER, BC October 15, 2021 – Delic Holdings Corp (“Delic” or the “Company“) (CSE: DELC) (OTCQB: DELCF) (FRA: 6X0) (Original Source) the leading psychedelic wellness platform, today announced two new partnerships between Ketamine Wellness Centers LLC (“KWC“) and the Veterans Administration (VA) Community Care Networks of Illinois and Minnesota. The nation’s largest chain of psychedelic wellness clinics, KWC, will offer ketamine treatments to veterans at no out-of-pocket cost at their locations in Naperville, IL, and Burnsville, MN. The program will cover patients who are experiencing post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), major depression and chronic pain, and who have exhausted all traditional medical treatments. KWC also offers a Hero’s Discount at clinics nationwide to cover partial out-of-pocket costs of the treatment for military veterans and first responders.

More than 1.7 million veterans received treatment in a VA mental health specialty program in 2018, according to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. One in ten U.S. adults are diagnosed with PTSD, with higher rates found among military veterans and first responders. The percentage of veterans with PTSD varies by where they served: Operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom (11-20%), Gulf War/Desert Storm (12%), and the Vietnam War (30% have had PTSD in their lifetime).

Based on recent research studies, PTSD has been shown to damage synaptic connections in the brain that affect information flow. Ketamine treatments have successfully repaired and improved these connections while also building new, healthy ones. PTSD damage can reappear over time if the treatment is stopped and no other support strategies are put in place.

Matt Stang, co-founder and CEO of Delic commented, “This partnership between KWC and the VA Community Care Network is a true game changer when it comes to the health and wellness of our veterans. They face steep challenges when returning home, especially related to their mental and physical health, including PTSD, depression and pain. Now they can seek the treatment they need without worrying about whether they can afford it. These brave men and women have sacrificed so much to protect this country and we are honored to support them.”

“This partnership with the Illinois and Minnesota chapters of the VA Community Care Network is vital to the veterans in those communities,” Kevin Nicholson, CEO of KWC stated. “These men and women coming to KWC have exhausted the traditional treatment options and are seeking effective, affordable therapies to help them get their lives back on track. We are continuing to work with the VA Community Care Network to expand this initiative to our other locations so we can ensure veterans everywhere are supported and have the treatments they need. We want to give back to these heroes for all they have done for this country and offer them a sense of hope and optimism about their futures.”

KWC is a limited liability corporation formed under the laws of Arizona, which operates 10 ketamine infusion treatment clinics across Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Illinois, Minnesota, Nevada, Texas, and Washington. KWC is the largest national chain of ketamine infusion clinics in the United States overseeing 60,000 treatments delivered to date.

KWC adds to Delic’s existing portfolio of two clinics operated by Ketamine Infusion Centers in California and Arizona, cementing its position as the leading and largest ketamine wellness provider in the country. Delic expects to open 15 additional clinics across the country over the coming 18 months, further expanding access to millions who can benefit from psychedelic treatment for a variety of mental health conditions.

Psychedelic research coming to Florida

Florida Would Study Psychedelics’ Medical Benefits Under Top Senate Democrat’s New Bill

“The science regarding psilocybin is real, cannot be ignored, and soon will be a universally-accepted form of treatment in the U.S.,” said Rep. Michael Grieco (D) of Florida.

That’s why he and Senate Minority Leader Lauren Book (D) filed bills that would require the state to study the medical potential of psilocybin and MDMA.

The bills were modeled on the measure enacted in Texas earlier this year to study psychedelic therapy for veterans with PTSD, but with an even broader scope. If enacted, the Department of Health would be directed to research other conditions like depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, chronic pain and migraines.

Lobe Sciences and the World Boxing Association Announce Initiative Targeting mTBI and PTSD

Lobe Sciences (LOBE) is partnering with the the World Boxing Association (“WBA”) to help boxers manage brain injuries!

The organizations plan to launch a global registry to identify former and current boxers with mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI) and help them manage the side effects, which can often include PTSD. The WBA will also develop best practices for early diagnosis of mTBI that can be used immediately after fights for current boxers.

Injured boxers could potentially be treated with Lobe’s therapeutic regimen, which utilizes the combination of psilocybin and NAC (the pneumonia drug) mentioned in last week’s issue.

Childhood trauma? Try tripping 5 times

Psychedelics might reduce internalized shame and complex trauma symptoms in those with a history of childhood abuse

A recent study suggests that repeated psychedelic drug use may be effective in reducing PTSD symptoms and internalized shame in people who endured maltreatment during childhood.

The researchers surveyed adults with severe physical, emotional, or sexual trauma and found that those who took psychedelics for therapeutic purposes (in non-clinical settings) were less likely to have a negative self-concept or disturbances in relationships.

Participants who used psychedelics with therapeutic intent 5 times showed the lowest levels of internalized shame and complex trauma.
