Mydecine Files MYCO-003 Final Patent Application and Reports Positive Preclinical Data

Mydecine Files MYCO-003 Final Patent Application and Reports Positive Preclinical Data

DENVER, Sept. 22, 2021 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Mydecine Innovations Group (NEO:MYCO) (OTC:MYCOF) (FSE:0NFA) (“Mydecine” or the “Company”), a biopharmaceutical company focused on the treatment of mental health and addiction, today announced that it has filed its final patent application with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) and the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) for one of its lead drug candidates, MYCO-003, which is being developed to offer enhanced treatment of anxiety and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

In addition, the Company is pleased to report positive preclinical data supporting the continued development of MYCO-003. This patent pending formulation has the potential to further reduce patient anxiety as compared to pure psilocybin, when used in therapy or medical practice. MYCO-003 combines a serotonin agonist with a serotonin releasing agent; these drug classes are being demonstrated in research to increase the efficacy of therapy, and produce increased sense of wellbeing, safety, and happiness during stressful therapy. Mydecine believes these properties will be synergistic and particularly important for the effective treatment of patients with severe PTSD and extreme anxiety disorders.

“Current psilocybin-based treatments can overcome the risk of extreme anxiety reactions with supportive care. With our enhanced MYCO-003, this promising candidate has the potential to reduce anxiety during therapy before needing to provide extensive supportive care. Therefore, we believe that MYCO-003 would have a greater appeal to patients suffering from extreme anxiety and PTSD driving a more effective and immediate treatment result for patients in need,” said Rob Roscow, Chief Science Officer.

“This is another exciting progression in the execution of our drug development pipeline which is consistently demonstrating the value and efficacy of our psychedelic-assisted therapeutics and the wide array of therapeutic applications we can target,” said Josh Bartch, CEO of Mydecine. “As we advance our product portfolio, Mydecine continues to add layers of efficacy and safety to the already established medical value of our proprietary drug candidates currently in the pipeline. We believe the continued development of MYCO-003 can play a significant role in delivering a more effective treatment for PTSD and anxiety.”

Blackhawk Growth’s MindBio Therapeutics Plans to Commercialize Intellectual Property Generated from the University of Auckland’s Clinical Trial in Psychedelic Assisted Therapy in Advanced Stage Cancer Patients

Blackhawk Growth’s MindBio Therapeutics Plans to Commercialize Intellectual Property Generated from the University of Auckland’s Clinical Trial in Psychedelic Assisted Therapy in Advanced Stage Cancer Patients

Vancouver, British Columbia – TheNewswire – September 16, 2021 – Blackhawk Growth Corp. (CSE:BLR); (CNSX:BLR.CN); (OTC:BLRZF); (Frankfurt:0JJ) (the “Company” or “Blackhawk”) is pleased to provide an update on MindBio Therapeutics Pty Ltd. (“MindBio Therapeutics”), a clinical stage drug development company conducting research into microdosing and medicinal use of psychedelic medicine.

MindBio Therapeutics plans to commercialize the intellectual property generated from the University of Auckland’s clinical trial in psychedelic assisted therapy in advanced-stage cancer patients. The administration of high-dose psychedelic compounds have shown clinically significant benefits in the treatment of psychological distress in advanced cancer patients. However, psychedelics at high doses can vividly alter perceptions; an experience that poses challenges in this vulnerable population. ‘Microdosing’ – repeated administration of psychedelics in low doses does not alter perceptions but may offer similar benefit in reducing anxiety, depression and existential distress. This study will evaluate the feasibility of conducting a randomised controlled trial comparing psychedelic-microdose assisted in people who have advanced cancer and anxiety or depression.

Participants will be randomised to receive psychotherapy alongside doses of either an LSD microdose or placebo. The feasibility, acceptability, safety and potential psychological benefits of this intervention will be assessed. The findings will inform the development of a larger trial and provide initial indication of potential benefits of psychedelic microdosing in advanced cancer.

Can this combination treat depression?

Allied Corp. Advances Psilocybin Product Psilonex™ RX and Initiates Manufacturing Process

Microdosing: the solution all your problems

Meet the women who regularly microdose psychedelics

Three women struggling with mental health issues shared their life-changing experiences with microdosing.

One woman, Amber, was so depressed that everything felt dull and uninteresting, until she started microdosing. “When I microdosed for the first time I found myself noticing the beauty of the things around me again,” she says. She explains that microdosing is “akin to a child-like wonder” and makes her feel “more positive, open-minded and creative but still completely functional and sober”.

Bea finds that microdosing three times per week acts as a natural mood booster and study aid, brings her mental clarity, and helps her organize her life. She says she’s now able to be her true, stable self and is no longer the “people-pleasing, anxious version” of herself.

Chelsea says that microdosing allows her to “stay fully present” and is the only tool that helps her focus her busy mind, but the biggest shift was in her anxiety. “For over fifteen years, I had severe anxiety, but through microdosing, I could sit with and deliberate my fears. I now rarely suffer with it, and if I do, it’s fleeting,” she shares.

The trendy parenting hack

Moms who microdose ‘magic’ mushrooms say the psychedelic made them better parents

Moms around the world are microdosing magic mushrooms to become better parents.

Natalie from Oakland, CA is one of many moms who’ve turned to microdoing to cope with postpartum depression. She was suffering so much that she was worried she’d harm her newborn, which made her suicidal.

Since microdosing 100mg of mushrooms daily for one month, she’s been able to go off antidepressants and ADHD medications. She says she feels more stable than ever and can now face motherhood with a sense of calm.

“Microdosing let me know who I really am…I’m able to parent myself and my daughter in a whole different way, because when I microdose, I know I’ve got this”, Natalie said in an interview with Insider.

300% growth?

This Psychedelics Stock Could Grow 300% In One Year

Experts predict major growth for this psychedelics stock.

Last week, the financial services firm Cantor Fitzgerald initiated coverage of Cybin Inc. (CYBN).

The stock was just $2.25 per share when the firm gave Cybin a 12-month price target of $9  – a 300% margin.

The analysts believe that Cybin’s proprietary formulation for treating depression which is in phase 2 clinical trials, has great potential for scalability. They explain that Cybin has enough capital to advance its other formulations for anxiety and alcohol use disorder through clinical trials as well.

How to bond with strangers

Minnesota Psychedelic Therapy Clinic, Institute for Integrative Therapies, Begins Offering Psychedelic Therapy in a Group Setting

“We have a crisis of loneliness and isolation.” Is group psychedelic therapy the solution?

This week, the Institute for Integrative Therapies (IIT) in Minnesota began offering ketamine-assisted therapy in group settings, and will soon offer group therapy with psilocybin and MDMA too.

Group sessions can provide a powerful healing experience and a sense of connection, plus they’re much cheaper than one-on-one sessions at just $500 per person for a 3-hour experience.

Participants work with a therapist both individually and in group settings to prepare for the experience before laying on a floor mat and tripping in a room full of strangers. Each group has a focus such as depression, anxiety, PTSD, existential crises, grief, end of life distress, and LGBTQ experiences.

Psilocybin will be bigger than cannabis, says a cannabis exec

Cannabis Firm Plans South Africa IPO, Magic Mushroom Expansion

South Africa’s first cannabis company is shifting to psilocybin, which shouldn’t be a surprise given its name – Cilo Cybin Pharmaceutical Ltd.

The company recently applied for a research permit to study psilocybin for depression, anxiety, and PTSD. “I really think it is going to be a lot bigger than cannabis even,” said the CEO.

He plans to take the company public on the Johannesburg and Luxembourg Stock Exchanges within the next 12 months.

Finally some research on microdosing

Diamond Therapeutics Announces Health Canada Approval of Clinical Trial with Low-Dose Psilocybin

There’s tremendous anecdotal evidence that microdosing has therapeutic benefits, yet there’s limited research on its effects. Luckily, that’s starting to change thanks to Diamond Therapeutics.

The Toronto-based company received Health Canada approval to conduct a Phase 1 human clinical trial to evaluate low doses of psilocybin in up to 80 healthy volunteers. The preclinical research suggests that low, non-hallucinogenic doses have potential therapeutic benefits.

Diamond Therapeutics is also planning to conduct a Phase 2 trial in the US and Canada to evaluate low psilocybin doses in treating anxiety and will support an investigator-led study on moderate depression as well.

Psychedelic therapy retreat aims to use psilocybin to treat traumatic brain injury (TBI) in veterans

Ground-breaking research to explore the potential for psilocybin to treat traumatic brain injury

This Fall, Heroic Hearts Project will begin psychedelic therapy retreats in the Netherlands and Jamaica to study the effect of psilocybin on veterans with traumatic brain injury (TBI). Many veterans sustain brain injuries during their service, which can lead to issues like anxiety, depression, and substance abuse. The retreats aim to study both the psychological and physiological impacts of psilocybin therapy.
